He can count by 20s?

Yes in recent news, he can count by 20′s and it’s pretty shocking to me LOL He can also recognize/predict words by the sounds the letters make. This morning he was playing his new Sesame Street V-smile game and he was rhyming words pretty well. I am proud of his progress. He is also picking [...]

Yesterday’s fervor & Today’s task

My son had the wind of inspiration with him yesterday as he breezed through about six pages of his new workbook from Brighter Vision and helped me make stand up animal cutouts. He was still asking for more workbook pages when I got tired! His phonics skills are getting stronger. He only made a few [...]

Chronological Order and Associations

This afternoon, my son and I undertook a few small cut and paste projects. He was able to put pictures in categories based on what type of transportation they were: Land, Air, Sea. Then he put vehicles with the workers who use them: train master, firefighter, police woman, and farmer. Next, we tackled two story [...]

Brighter Vision and New Games

We did the scarecrow face from one of his new workbooks today. He also did a page with mazes and another with count and circle the number of animals. Son showed me he knows his opposites pretty well. He also knows when a group has a greater or lesser amount than another group. He is recognizing a few phonics oriented things like some words and the first sound…P is an easy one for him. He also made a crayon mosaic on the floor. We [...]

reading

I think he will be reading before the end of the year. He was following along with me when we read about Elijah in his Story Bible. He was repeating what I said and pointing to the words. I can’t wait for him to be able to truly read to me.

Curriculum

I have just ordered the 7 book Rod and Staff Curriculum package for Preschool. I can’t wait to get it and show the baby. He will probably want to do all the worksheets at once. I wouldn’t care, just as long as he got the main concepts. It’s all for him to learn at his [...]
