We went over the days of the week and their spellings, as well as the months of the year. We briefly spoke on how many days there are per month.

Then we did the big music review, where he actually remembered all that he was taught that one day we worked on all the different types of notes. He remembered the staff, it’s name, the count for the notes, the names for the notes, and the difference between the treble and bass cleff…

Hands On Bible & other things

Yesterday, we took a trek over to our favorite Bible shop and bought a few things. We got my son a bookmark with Bob the Tomato from Veggie Tales. It says “God made you special and he loves you very much”. We also bought him the Hands-On Bible NLT and VeggieTales – Moe & The Big Exit. The owner of the store is our very good friend, and so gave our son a CD of worship songs for kids called Shout Praises!: Kids Shout to the Lord. He is enjoying all of his new things. We read part of the Moses story today for Bible after he watched the Moe dvd. He has yet to listen to the songs on the cd, but he knows a few of them already.

Singing about the Saviour

My son called his grandmother this morning and gave her an impromptu concert. He started off with his own rendition of a song I will call “Jesus is Lord”. That went something like “Jesus Is Lord, Jesus is Lord!” over and over in very loud tones. Then he mellowed into some other songs that he enjoys from different media and then right back to “Jesus Is Lord”.

Makes me feel good because now I know he is really paying attention.

He can count by 20s?

Yes in recent news, he can count by 20′s and it’s pretty shocking to me LOL

He can also recognize/predict words by the sounds the letters make.

This morning he was playing his new Sesame Street V-smile game and he was rhyming words pretty well.

I am proud of his progress.

He is also picking up lots of songs and making up more of his own words. I can’t wait to start playing the guitar with him more.

Today he is painting with his new easel and paint set. Yesterday he drew a lovely picture of all of us and put it on the fridge. There are paper shards all over the floor because he got a new pair of scissors and has been using them for most of the day.

pqt bvdjw My son will be heartbroken. The Wiggles are a staple in his insatiable quest for music. Read more about it here. I knew that they were doing a lot of cartoonish episodes with no real people dancing on screen…and they were also substituting the group being on stage for their little happy dancing assistants to get some air time, but I had no clue it might be from orthostatic intolerance. I figured they were just getting older and didn’t feel the need to show their faces as much. I hope that Greg gets better. He was the lead singer.

pqt bvdjw He has been very interested in learning how to keep time with his drum sticks. He loves the song “We Will Rock You” by Queen as it is easy to pick up the beat and continue to keep it pretty easily. He did an excellent job,even asking for the song to be replayed 3 times so he could get the beat down pat.

His heart and lungs and opera songs

He has discovered his heart beat, and how he breathes. He showed me how the air goes in and his chest swells. He also followed the rythym of his heart with me.

Recently, he began to sing in opera tones and we have whole conversations in opera sing song. He will be a more than well rounded person for sure.

pqt bvdjw He loves to make music. He was on the computer making beats with Reason. He is always coming up with some type of drum beat with his drumsticks and his drum. He loves to play his pianos. He has two which he plays and sings with on a regular basis. He can match notes and harmonize naturally. It’s awesome to watch him and listen to him work.

We have a karaoke machine just for him. We made a 10 minute tape of him singing. If someone sings with him, he naturally harmonizes. It’s so cool to watch him. He is a true performer. His life will definitely take him to the stage.
