pqt bvdjw
Yesterday my son got an impromptu lesson from his father on how to fix a DVD player and a VCR. He got a good look at the inner workings, and was allowed to help screw bolts into place.

They played the historic Samurai game again, too.

Today we talked about the Vascular system. He wanted to know why his father takes pills. We talked about high blood pressure, veins, and then he was done. He got squeamish when he saw the pictures of the blood vessels online. They weren’t really that graphic, but they made him uncomfortable. I’m like this from the boy who gets excited at movie carnage LOL.

We are planning a trip to Chuck E. Cheese on Monday. I joined a field trip group in New Jersey and we are hoping to get to Longwood Gardens for the Christmas fanfare with them.

pqt bvdjw
Today we worked more on Bike safety. We learned the proper way to cross a road, hand signals, and the way to follow safely on the bike. Now the only thing we are missing for his road test is his helmet. Road test, meaning we can leave the apartment complex and cross the street.

Yesterday, we got a hands on, up close and personal look at Native American Indian culture. It was the POWWOW!!! We had a blast, got to chat it up with our cousins, and watch some awesome dancing. I adore the dance competitions, although Taz was unnerved by the massive costuming.

pqt bvdjw
Well not really “at home”, more like at the park. I found some things online that I knew would picque his interest, so I printed them and we went to the park for a few hours. Everyone got up late today, so I wasn’t pushing for us to hurry up and do school as soon as we got up. It worked out great. We did a scavenger hunt for things in the park and he drew pictures of them. Then he did a maze to put the apple core in the trash. Next, he demonstrated how to keep our environment clean by putting some trash into the receptacle. Lastly, he just played in the glorious afternoon sunshine and lovely dirt…which we all know is the true show of appreciation for the Earth and what it has to offer LOL.

pqt bvdjw
We have been doing a lot of workbook activities of late. He has been really excelling at getting things done. He is the initiator and begs to do his books nearly daily. We have worked on his penmanship, spelling, letter recognition, reading, simple math, and artsy things. We made insects out of pipe cleaners.

He has also been doing a lot of imaginative play. He made a wedding dress out of playdoh yesterday for his girl action figure. She married the boy action figure and they had a few adventures together. We attended a wedding this past weekend, and he was fascinated with the clothes and dynamics of marriage.

He has done well to remember up to the 3rd day of creation thus far without too much prompting. We are moving on to the 4th and 5th days next week.

You can read about our misadventures on my other blog. Puerto Rico is beautiful. It was a great learning experience. He got to see palm trees, clear water, two colored sand, dead coral, lizards, indigenous flowers, mountains, aerial views, airplanes from the inside… and so much more. He even learned some more Spanish. We can’t wait to go back next year. Sorry it took me a while to get back over and update, but it’s been something trying to catch up!

Enjoy.

pqt bvdjw
I have always been planning to take Taz to see Mickey Mouse. He loves Mickey. I don’t know how he even knew who he was, but from the moment he laid eyes on that mouse, he was infatuated. My goal is to get him to Disney as soon as possible. I am always looking for deals on Disney Tickets. I found a website that I can keep an eye on for just that. They also have tickets for other features around the area like basketball games. It would be neat to have a family vacation that catered to each person’s tastes. There are also consumer guides and park passes. Everything is conveniently rolled into the one website. That one is going on my bookmarks so that I can be ready when we finally do get to book our trip.

pqt bvdjw
We went to the Please Touch Museum on Saturday, January 29th to see the Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood exhibit. It was an awesome experience for us to see the same props they used on the show. They also had a bunch of exhibits that were sponsored by local businesses. There was a bus which Will loved b/c it had a handicap ramp that he was running up and down as fast as he could. There was an exhibit for the Monster that’s lives in the closet, or whatever it’s called LOL. They had a reading area for quiet time. They had a train up in the air, a trolley, a water works area, a huge elephant made of a bunch of different items, a supermarket, a farm area with fake pecking chickens (which my son didnt like and so decided not to go in there ha!). There was a milk exhibit, a place to do art projects, a cave, an alice in wonderland exhibit, and a bunch of other things that I just cannot recall. It was awesome, and for $9.95 a head, well worth it. Will ran himself to sleep ! He had a great time. Go to His Picsfolio to see the trip in color
