Unschool: science of life

He asked me what rabbits eat, and why animals eat rabbits. We got to talk about the circle of life. I couldn’t find that nifty chart that shows the animals eating the grass, the animals eating the animals, and man eating the animals … but he got the picture. I tried to make it as gentle an explanation as I could. I don’t want him boycotting food because he is disgusted that we eat animals he likes to play with (chickens).

LOL when we did a brief study on this in first grade we made paper chains and put an animal on each chain and hung them. Then you can see which animal eats which in order. :]
