I have a Master’s degree in education and psychology and I think I do a darn good job at homeshcooling my child, thank you very much! Clearly, I beg to differ. Why on earth would a degree be a hindrance? How pretentious and rude of you! I wonder how many other people you may have offended. I have never said that any of the homeschool moms I know can’t teach well without a college degree. (And most of them don’t have one). We all do a fine job in my opinion, irregardless of degrees.

When asked this was Obama’s response
Q. Do you support home schooling?
A. Barack Obama respects the decisions reached by some parents to home school their children, provided those parents are conforming to the laws and regulations set forward by their states governing home-based instruction.

Since HOMESCHOOLING laws are a STATE issue and not a FEDERAL issue, he probably didn’t feel the need to bring it up.

Some states require that you have a bachelors degree or become accredited to homeschool. In my opinion a mom without a bachelors can do a much better job teaching her child than a teacher with a bachelors.

It’s very true. That’s why I am so very wary of what he really thinks about homeschools. I can’t be sure from one wayward line in a book. If he was really about home schooling, he would have brought it up at least once. Instead, he only talks about reforming the public schools and makes it sound as if we who are at home will end up having to become accredited in order to teach our kids.

I do not think that Home Tutoring should fall under “school”.

You can never really tell what a politician is implying until it is too late!!
