New books for a new year

Well, sort of. I got a few books from the dollar store today. We are going into 1st grade pretty strong, I think:

Since we are still working on reading & writing (dyslexia!!!) I got him a beginner’s type of book for that. We have to reinforce and move on. Other than that, he is moving right along in math. Some of the things he does in Math are considered 2nd grade level. He is also very much into animal science and astronomy. We are going to expand on those and build into some other forms of science.

Social studies, so far we are getting into New Jersey and the things about where we live in general. I will probably start with some simple stories about Presidents in our history at some point in the near future, too. All these are just general thoughts and we shall see how or if we get to them any time soon LOL.

I still have to finish up MFW K real quick. Not in a hurry to finish all of Rod & Staff, since I am only getting reinforcement books from them for his first grade things. I will probably end up ordering MFW 1st grade in another month or so.
