California for Homeschoolers

I have been hearing a lot about California not wanting people to homeschool. I just read this article that seems to be saying something quite different. They want to mainstream it moreso than anything. That could be a good and bad thing. So far, nothing is being done more than what they already had in place…but the initiatives are out there to make homeschooling more like public schools. They really want to keep track of everyone in Cali.
