He’s Reading & Spelling!

Fighting for two weeks has paid off. Last night he brought me his easel and asks me what he should spell. He sounded out and spelled : cat, dog, my first & last name, hill, sun and probably a few other words. This morning he read the word God after sounding it out. It is sinking in! He is getting the basics of reading. YAY!

Updated to say that he is all over the chalkboard writing words this afternoon. His favorite word by far has to be BANANA. He sounded that one out the other day and hasn’t been able to stop spelling it since. We did words that end in OF, AT, and AN today with a few other words that he needs to know like THE, MOM, and DAD.
