Learning to Read

Yesterday and today we were working on his phonics. It is something else to hear him finally get a word. He read a few pretty well by sounding htem out yesterday. Today, not so much. He is fighting me about it because he just wants me to tell him the answer. I have never been the one who would tell him the answer, even if my brain SCREAMED it out hoping he would hear from the recesses of my mind. Right now we are fighting over the word ORANGE because he refuses to just SAY the danged word. Instead, he is acting like he has no idea and saying things like BLUE just to try and guess his way out of THINKING. Very annoying. We will get there, though. He wants to read really badly, so I know he will start to try harder as soon as he realizes there is no way to guess your way into reading.
