A new bill for decency in broadcasting was introduced to the House of Representatives. It’s all about trying to get television to clean up its act. Every broadcaster is being put under spotlight to see if the content they are presenting will be harmful to children.
I, for one, am happy that someone is finally going to take quality of entertainment under scrutiny. It’s high time that I don’t feel the need to cover the television screen with my body while trying to find something suitable for my son to watch. It’s our responsibility as parents to make sure our children watch quality television, but it’s not our job to make sure that while we change the channels smut is not running rampant on every channel before that.
I do use the favorites mode on my remote to help make sure that I don’t inadvertently cause my son trauma, but the commercials even have smut. I can’t tell you how many times I have seen a flash of flesh when I was trying to change a channel to get to something decent. It’s a shame. I hope that the bill goes through. Morality must return to television!

I agree! What ever happened to no sexually explicit or violent content before a certain time (I think it was 9 PM)? It’s unreal what is shown during the day when young children are home. I only allow our dd to watch certain tv shows on certain channels. And don’t get me started on radio!
