I missed the show last week, but I would have watched if I had known it was coming on. I can’t believe that the grandmother knew about the molestation and didn’t say anything to the child’s parents. I can’t believe that the grandfather only got 8 months in county for touching his 6 1/2 year old granddaughter in the most sinful, degrading, disgusting manner possible. I really can’t believe that the father cried more about his father going to jail than the broken innocence of his daughter.
I’m watching the recap right now and near getting physically sick. The grandfather is saying that the devil made him do it. WTH? So we’re now at the meeting of the grandparents with the parents. I wouldn’t be able to be in the same room with that man… how dare he just say “I’m so sorry” when he keeps NOT taking the responsibility on himself.
The grandmother was probably overwhelmed by the situation. I have been through this same issue myself and I know that the people who knew were scared to report what happened and thought it was for my own safety and good. It doesn’t excuse the fact that no one did what they were supposed to do.
It bugs me that the father doesn’t even jump. He isn’t angry. It’s like he already knew something was wrong with his father, but he just won’t say or do what he should. That poor little girl…
The mother is the only one in her right mind.
I am glad that Dr. Phil is doing this show. Sure, I don’t always agree with his views but sometimes he is dead on. This is one time when he was right on the money and I hope and pray that these grandparents can take responsibility and do the right thing…whatever that is.
They are going to talk to little Gracie later in the show. I don’t know if I will be able to stomach that part of it. I’m going off here for now, but if I can finish watching I will sum up my last thoughts/feelings on the situation for you all. If you missed it and it is aired again, I urge you to watch it.
