Spirituality: What God wants from us

Posted by Taz's Mom on March 7th, 2007 filed in Spirituality

I am trying to help my son understand that obedience to me is like obedience to God. If we love God then we will do what He says for us to do, like obeying our parents. Showing our love for God by loving our parents and obeying them is the idea that I am doing my best to convey. We talk about it nearly every day since he has started on his “I’m a mini teenager” tangent of talking back, lying, and general rudeness. Sometimes he remembers that he isn’t supposed to act that way, apologizes, uses his manners, obeys, and all is well. Then there are the other times when it all falls apart. I pray for help every day because I want to show him the grace and love that God has for him. It’s hard, but it is sinking in somewhat.
