You have to see this. They came out great. We used:
- Egg carton
- felt
- beads
- white tempura paint
- glue
- toothpicks
- chair padding
We had fun making them. His has eyebrows on the man because that’s what he wanted to do! It was also his idea to make a man and a woman snowman.
You take a 12 egg carton and cut it in half to make 2 sets of 6 egg buckets. Then you paint the egg carton with white paint *assuming you didn’t have a white egg carton laying around*. You can choose buttons, beads, felt, or whatever you have for eyes. We took toothpicks and painted them orange to make the noses. The hats are glued to toothpicks. The arms are toothpicks with felt mittens glued to the ends. Two strips of felt were used per scarf.
Total time for project from start to finish: about a half an hour.
