This afternoon, my son and I undertook a few small cut and paste projects. He was able to put pictures in categories based on what type of transportation they were: Land, Air, Sea. Then he put vehicles with the workers who use them: train master, firefighter, police woman, and farmer. Next, we tackled two story sequences. The first one he did easily, the second he got the middle right and the beginning / end mixed up. I could forgive that, though, because even I had an issue with the way the pictures were drawn. It took me a minute to look at them and figure out which meant what HAHA.
We also did a workbook page where he had to write his numbers, and another where he connected the dots. There were 2 pictures: Star and Moon. I told him how to spell the words and he wrote them out correctly. He only missed the “r” in Star * forgot the – on the | *.
We played video games on PBS together for a little while His favorites are Barney’s recycling sort by picture game and Clifford’s pattern game.
We are still working on following directions in general. He seems to always want to do things his way. He understands directions perfectly…so much that he can turn them around and do the EXACT opposite. He is good at figuring out things like that.
